On campus:
Fond memories ...
... and continuing connections: Jim Woulf, John Bayer and Bob Van Dyck have stayed in touch. After graduation, John and Jim entered the army as ROTC officers three months apart. John paved the way for Jim and his new wife, Jackie, as he entered Transportation Training in Virginia and Flight School in Texas. He was best man at their wedding and godfather to their first-born son. Friendships like these were found across campus. Woulf sums up his memories of St. Norbert: “It was just a healthy learning environment, such an incredible experience. The class of 1957 was special, very close, high moral values and plenty of energy.” All three continue to stay in touch through e-mail, phone calls and annual visits to De Pere and/or Arizona. John and Bob live in Arizona eight months a year, and Jim visits during winter months. Reunion/Homecoming plans: Now these friends and many others are looking forward to returning to St. Norbert College to renew old friendships at this year’s Reunion/Homecoming. Although they have lost touch with many of their classmates, Woulf, Bayer and Van Dyck are anxious to see as many people as possible. “You knew everyone well, the campus was very small and very close,” says Woulf. They and a few others will be contacting fellow classmates to encourage them to join them in the reunion festivities. Now it’s up to you! If you would like to be a part of planning your class’s 50th anniversary reunion, or just want to know more about what’s in the works, contact the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations. |
