Seeking a director to foster alumni and parent relations
St. Norbert College is looking for a director of alumni and parent relations to lead the College's efforts to strengthen relationships with its 22,000 former students.
The director will report to the vice president for college advancement and will join an integrated team that strives to build lifelong relationships. This team helps alumni remain connected to the College community and to each other, as well as yielding support for the College's marketing, enrollment, fund-raising and career networking efforts.
Steve Zach '80, trustee and immediate past president of the alumni board, and Jeremy Miner, director of development for strategic initiatives, will lead the search.
The preferred candidate will possess a bachelor's degree and a record of success nurturing relationships with stakeholders, proven leadership skills, a knowledge of marketing techniques, demonstrated creativity, an entrepreneurial spirit and comfort with emerging technologies.
Miner added, "Experience with volunteer-driven organizations is desired, and familiarity with the College's Catholic and Norbertine liberal arts heritage will be a plus."
With the assistance of a professional staff, the director will provide support for alumni communities throughout the United States, and coordinate the work of the alumni board and the parents council. Occasional overnight travel is required, particularly as staff and volunteer leadership plan social, networking, intellectual and spiritual programs in the St. Norbert communities in Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee, Minneapolis/St. Paul and northeast Wisconsin.
"To help alumni to continue to connect, grow and reflect, the director must have excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational abilities," said Miner.
