Alum steps up to the plate at women’s series

Milwaukee Brewers vice president and general counsel Marti Wronski ’94 is batting third in the 2011-12 Women’s Enrichment Series. She’ll present “There’s No Crying in Baseball” at 12 noon on Friday, Nov. 18, in the Hendrickson Dining Room of the F.K. Bemis International Center.

Wronski just finished her eighth season with the Brewers, and her sixth in her current role. In it, she oversees all legal and contract work, including players’ and coaches’ contracts, sponsorship contracts, legal designs for trademark and fan entertainment, and compliance matters.

Prior to joining the Brewers, Wronski worked from 1997 to 2001 as a litigation associate in the Milwaukee office of Foley & Lardner. She also served as an assistant professor at Marquette University Law School for the 2002-03 academic year. She discussed her career with Kevin Quinn (Economics) on a recent episode of “Conversations from St. Norbert College.”

The Women’s Enrichment Series features monthly lunches and speakers in the Hendrickson Dining Room. Upcoming events in the series include a Christmas performance by Knights on Broadway and talks by Karlyn Crowley (English), John Neary (English), Stephen Rupsch (Theatre Studies) and Maureen Manion (Political Science, Emeritus). The series culminates on June 7 with a day trip to Door County, Wis., featuring gallery and winery tours.

Each luncheon event costs $20. The Door County trip, which includes transportation, is $40. Those interested in attending may register online or via e-mail.
