History of Junior Knights and Days
Junior
Knights and Days is in its 8th year at St. Norbert College. With each
year attendance and anticipation for the event have grown. We are
extremely excited to be planning this year’s Junior Knights and Days
(JKD) and we look forward to seeing you there!
The
idea for Junior Knights and Days began when the Office of Alumni and
Parent Relations wanted to create a special weekend for the students of
St. Norbert College. They decided to target the junior class because
the freshmen and sophomores were still settling into life at SNC and
the seniors were already looking forward to life after SNC. The Office
of Alumni and Parent Relations modeled JKD after a longstanding program
at Notre Dame University.
The goal of JKD is to offer a chance to allow
the parents of the junior class to come back onto St. Norbert campus
and see what their child has been up to for the past three years. Since
juniors are confident in their roles at SNC, it allows them to be
comfortable to spend time with their parents and show them what life at
SNC is all about.
Although
some students may initially be skeptical about spending a weekend with
their parents, many have been surprised at how much fun it is. In fact,
some have even stated that it is one of the highlights of their time at
SNC.
The weekend offers a unique set of opportunities and chances for
parents and children to interact as well as allowing students and
parents alike to meet the families of their friends. One
extremely special quality of Junior Knights and Days is that it is a
weekend coordinated by juniors for the junior class and their parents.
