A senior’s reflection on four great years

It is hard to believe that within a few short weeks, the semester will end and I will graduate from college. The past four years have led up to this moment, but it is amazing how quickly it came.

At times, I am not ready to leave the safety of St. Norbert College—it’s become a home for me over the past four years. I remember move-in day my freshman year, when I apprehensively unloaded all of my belongings in front of my dorm, wondering how in the world I was going to make it all fit into my tiny new living space. I was unsure of the new friends I would make or where I would fit in.

That all changed quickly as I got adjusted to life at St. Norbert. I found my way around campus; professors and classes were not as scary as I thought they would be; and, oddly enough, I was able to somehow fit all of my belongings into my room. Most importantly, strangers became acquaintances, acquaintances became friends and friends became family.

The past four years have been priceless. The memories, experiences and knowledge I have gained will stay with me for a lifetime and St. Norbert College will always remain a home away from home.

As a member of the senior class, I would like to take this opportunity to especially thank all of the parents who have provided endless support and guidance. Although I may not feel ready to leave the College, with the help of family, friends, professors and the St. Norbert community, I have been provided with all of the tools necessary to take on any of the challenges life may bring.

I anxiously look forward to graduation and hope that you are able to join me and the senior class for this momentous occasion.
