About the St. Norbert Fund and Parent Giving
Dee Geurts-Bengtson, director of the St. Norbert Fund
St. Norbert College parents recently received a letter requesting financial support for the St. Norbert Fund. This fund is dedicated to enriching the lives of St. Norbert students, making a difference in their college experience and much more!
Gifts given by parents, alumni and friends without restriction provide College leaders the flexibility to direct support where it is needed most.
Unfortunately, tuition does not cover all of the College’s operational and educational expenses. Tuition and fees cover only 47 percent of the College’s annual operating budget. The St. Norbert Fund helps to offset these costs through the generous support of parents, alumni and friends.
There is a perception that private colleges may attract students exclusively from upper-income families. In fact, 96 percent of St. Norbert students receive some form of financial aid each year. This assistance allows your student to concentrate on his or her studies, perhaps explaining why St. Norbert’s four-year graduation rate is higher than at any other college in Wisconsin.
The College has something invaluable to offer parents in return for their financial support of the St. Norbert Fund. Your participation helps ensure your student will be a well-educated, productive, contributing member of his or her community upon graduation from St. Norbert College.
As a parent, you may be concerned about the size of your gift. Really, there is no gift too small. Every gift is an expression of belief in the College’s mission and confidence in your student.
