Summer 2007
Fall 2007 Move-In
The residence hall staff will be ready for new students to move in on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, at 8:00 a.m. Returning students may move into the residence halls on Friday, Aug. 24. Students moving into upper-class housing (apartments, townhouses and houses) can check in at the Residential Life Office from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If your student is participating in a fall sport, he/she may be required to move in earlier. Please be advised that your student may not be able to move to his/her permanent fall assignment during that early arrival time. We recommend that your student pack for “camp” and have the rest of his/her belongings brought Thursday, Aug. 23. If you live too far away for this to be practical, you may have to move your student twice, so pack accordingly.
When you arrive on campus, all traffic is routed to the Third Street parking lot. There, cars are lined up and allowed to progress to the proper hall when space allows. You will find residential life staff and orientation team members ready to assist you and your student when moving in. We will ask that you unload your car promptly and then move it to a longer term parking area.
Your student will be issued room keys and a Room Condition Report form (RCR). The RCR is very important; by carefully filling it out, your student is assured that he/she will not be assessed charges for any missing items or damage caused by previous residents.
Moving equipment, such as carts and dollies, is generally not available. You should plan on bringing your own if you feel it will be helpful for move-in day.
