Welcome from Mission and Heritage
The Rev. Jay Fostner, O.Praem., vice president for mission and heritage

From the annual Heritage Days celebration to the weekly Common Prayer services, from educational seminars to service trips and retreats, our emphasis is on building community while fostering personal, intellectual and spiritual growth.

The most visible aspect of our tradition, welcoming people of all faiths, is our communal worship. Usually centered in Old St. Joseph Church, or one of our residence hall chapels, all members of the College community are welcome to attend Mass or our Wednesday morning Common Prayer service.

Campus Ministry offers a variety of retreat formats and worship experiences, as well as men’s and women’s faith-sharing groups, which are open to students of all faiths. The staff also works in collaboration with the Department of Leadership, Service and Involvement to coordinate service opportunities through the Turning Responsibility Into Powerful Service (T.R.I.P.S.) program.

The Program of Faith, Learning and Vocation has Active Leaders In Vocation Exploration (ALIVE) Team peer ministers living in each of the residence halls, providing community-building and faith-exploration activities. It also offers financial support and formation activities to students exploring a call to ministry through internships.

The Center for Norbertine Studies is a collaborative partnership of the College and the Norbertine Order, designed to enliven and strengthen an authentic Catholic culture in the Norbertine tradition by creating opportunities for scholarship and reflection.

“If you want peace, work for justice!” is the rallying cry of the Peace and Justice Center, which offers programs focused on the important themes of Catholic social teaching. In addition to speakers, panel discussions on current events, study retreats and service trips, a new focus for 2007-08 year is on environmental sustainability at St. Norbert.

Please visit our web site at www.snc.edu/mission for a complete listing of program offerings and Mass schedules.
