In February, the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations hosted our annual Junior Knights and Days—a weekend for juniors and their parents. Activities included engaging academic sessions, entertainment, delicious meals, an evening dance and a reception with St. Norbert College president Tom Kunkel. Many participants shared with me how much they enjoyed the weekend—especially having an opportunity to meet their student’s friends and their parents. Those of you whose daughter or son will be a junior next year, I highly recommend making plans for this special weekend in February 2010.

If you’re considering a visit to campus, I encourage you to attend two distinctive events which will be held at St. Norbert College in March and April.

The sixth annual “Celebrating Student and Faculty/Staff Collaborations” focuses on the valued tradition at St. Norbert College of collaborations taking place in labs, studios and other scholarly or creative settings. I welcome all parents to attend and view the rich array of scholarly research and creative works that have resulted from these unique collaborations between students and faculty/staff. The event will be held on Tuesday, March 31, in the Sensenbrenner Memorial Union Lounge. The presentations begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception and recognition ceremony from 4:30-5:00 p.m. Please contact Gayle Lenz in the Office of Faculty Development at gayle.lenz@snc.edu for more information.

The Division of Student Affairs is sponsoring the “Norbertine Leadership and Service Awards,” recognizing students who have demonstrated selfless devotion to improving St. Norbert College and the greater community. On Sunday, April 19, more than 30 students will receive awards and/or scholarships for exhibiting high academic achievement, active service on and off campus, and exemplary leadership. We’re proud of the accomplishments our students attain, so please join us in celebrating their endeavors. The awards ceremony will be held 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Sensenbrenner Memorial Union.
