Senior Reflection
Matthew Muenster ’09
The story of why I chose St. Norbert College is not unlike many of my friends’ stories. I crossed SNC off of my list of possible colleges before my senior year of high school began. My sister Sarah (’07) was a student at SNC and I did not intend to make it a family affair. My sister Molly (’11) thought the same way before her senior year. As it turned out, Molly and I could have saved our family the time, effort and headaches of school shopping had we given St. Norbert the first glance. We followed Sarah’s lead and have not been disappointed with our decision.
St. Norbert College opened a world of opportunity to me. The education I have received in the classroom has been doubled with extracurricular activities. I began college as an undecided student looking for his niche. I will graduate a communication major, a participant of SNC’s study abroad program (London, England) and active in several facets of campus life including the T.R.I.P.S. program, Residential Education and Housing, student alumni ambassadors, choir and ministry at Old St. Joe’s.
I felt the spirit of this Norbertine community the moment I stepped onto campus for first-year orientation. Fellow students, faculty and staff were some of the most welcoming people I had met—this attitude has remained for four years.
I am grateful for everyone who has contributed to my time here, but especially my parents. They provided my sisters and me with an opportunity to be successful—a St. Norbert College education.
