Our vision
As an important organization within the College’s Mission and Heritage Division, the Peace and Justice Center assists the College in improving the conditions that promote human dignity and establishing a more just society. Our primary endeavor is to help prepare and engage students to serve as ethical and dynamic agents of change in their local, regional, national and global communities.
Our mission
The Peace and Justice Center promotes the building of community through the study and practice of peace and justice in curricular and co-curricular programs. Our understanding of peace and justice is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ, Catholic Social Teaching and recognition of the human dignity of all people.
Our guiding principles
The Center is committed to:
- Providing educational programs in accordance with Catholic Social Teaching and applying these teachings to society’s critical problems
- Designing forums that engage participants in meaningful dialogue on controversial subjects
- Assisting students in becoming agents of change through effective advocacy for justice and peace
