Peace and Justice Center Trips
Each year, the Peace and Justice Center sponsors several trips that enable participants to understand other nations and peoples. Students learn, reflect and then are able to act on their values, convictions and religious beliefs. Some trips are service-oriented while others promote deeper understanding of social structures and their relationships with justice and peace.

Immersion in Nonviolence Trip
Nov. 20-24, 2008
Learn about nonviolent resolution of conflict through experience! Participants join the Peace Action Wisconsin buses that travel to Columbus, Ga., for the annual Vigil to Close the
School of the Americas. While there they engage in nonviolence training and educational activities. The two-day event includes speakers, educational sessions and materials, a festive parade by the puppetistas and a solemn funeral procession in memory of those tortured and murdered in Latin America. Graduates of the former Army School of the Americas have been implicated in some of these human rights abuses. Thousands of attendees act in solidarity with Latin American sisters and brothers as part of an international struggle for human rights and global justice. To apply, visit or e-mail the Peace and Justice Center. |
