** Political science and cognate courses in the four required content areas may be substituted as content area blocks during the sophomore, junior and senior years to adjust to course offerings available and to enable students to take courses they particularly desire. However, students must meet the graduation requirements for the political science major by taking at least one course from each of the four content areas.

*** Students who desire to certify for teaching civics, government or political science in secondary grades, 7-12, should refer to the teacher education handbook for specific requirements in General Education and Human Relations.
