Charles Jacobs

Professional profile
Charles F. Jacobs is an Assistant Professor of Judicial Process and American Politics.

His main research interests flow from work conducted for his dissertation, entitled “Desegregation and the Connecticut Supreme Court: The Case of Sheff v. O’Neill.”  This investigation explores the policymaking capacity of a state supreme court in the arena of public school integration, a role that mirrors that of the United States Supreme Court and lower federal courts in the implementation of the decision in Brown v. Board of Education in 1954.  He is currently researching the doctrinal perspectives of United States Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer regarding the rights of the criminally accused under the Constitution.

In addition to his classroom work, Jacobs will serve as the academic coach for the newly formed mock trial team at St. Norbert College.
