Requesting proposals on diversity and inclusion initiatives
Following a successful first round of proposals, the President’s Committee on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (CEDI) is requesting additional proposals from the SNC community to support best practices in equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
What we are looking for:
Proposals must create and sustain change, with the ability to access, analyze and continually renew the College’s commitment to inclusion and diversity. Priority will be given to those proposals that:
(1) involve collaboration between one or more units, departments or academic areas;
(2) are likely to result in ongoing activities;
(3) have potential for additional financial support from internal or external sources;
(4) demonstrate accountability, leadership and institutionalization of such initiatives; and
(5) are affordable.
The grants will support (but are not limited to) such projects as campus programs, outreach efforts, exhibits, discussion groups, research and analysis projects, training and development, intra- and inter-college projects with neighboring institutions, cross-cultural dialogues, publications, course development, and community events. In the case of course development proposals, all the normal review processes would be followed once the course is developed.
You are welcome to re-submit proposals from last year if you wish.
Support for new positions or travel for small groups are NOT eligible for funding.
Proposals should not exceed $7,500. The deadline for submissions is February 28, 2010. Projects and activities must be completed by May 31, 2011. A report detailing the outcome of the activity is due 30 days after completion.
If you have any questions, please contact Mary Oling-Sisay at mary.oling-sisay@snc.edu.
