If You Have Taken a Foreign Language in High School Please Follow the Instructions Below:
The Modern Languages and Literatures Discipline would like to welcome
you to St. Norbert College. As part of Summer Orientation/Registration, we are requesting that all entering students with previous language study in French, German, or
Spanish, regardless of amount, complete a brief, on-line language exam
in the language you have studied. If you plan to continue language
study at St. Norbert, this exam will serve as your language placement
exam.
If you have studied French, German, or Spanish but do not plan to
continue language study at St. Norbert, you still need to complete the
exam. This exam is not for a grade. It is an assessment instrument
that allows the Modern Languages and Literatures faculty to gauge the
language study and proficiency of our entering class. For this reason,
it is essential that you complete the exam if you have previously
studied French, German, or Spanish, regardless of your plans to continue
language study at St. Norbert. If you have studied more than one of
these languages but do not plan to continue language study at St.
Norbert, please take the exam in the language you have studied most or in which you feel strongest. If you
plan to continue language study in more than one of these languages,
please take the exam in each language you plan to study.
If you have studied a language other than these, or if you have no prior language
study whatsoever, do not take the on-line exam and go here: "No prior language study"
You need to complete the exam at least one week before your Summer Orientation/Registration date. Please
take the exam only once. As you begin the exam, you will be asked to
complete a brief language survey.
