Study Abroad Course and Credit Equivalencies
Below are listed the official credit transfer policies and approvals for all active Study Abroad programs.

Transfer Processes Overview: All courses taken by Study Abroad students must be approved through the Registrar’s Office for transferability prior to enrollment in the course or they will not be guaranteed transferable.
This is initially accomplished through the submission of the Study Abroad Course Approval Form (aka Gold Sheet), which must be completed and turned in
to the Registrar's Office during the initial application process. Students must confirm all courses actually being taken once they are officially registered by submitting the online
Course Declaration Form to the Registrar's Office for final approval. Upon submitting this form, the SNC course equivalents will be listed as "In Progress" courses
on the student's record and can be factored into registration date assignments and housing processes, as well as used for advising assistance.
General Policies Overview: All students must take the equivalent of a full course load when studying abroad to qualify for Financial Aid and stay on track for graduation. The equivalent of 15-16 semester credits is
generally required, although 12 semester credits may be allowed in certain circumstances. All courses passed while abroad come in with a grade of T (Transferable). Students do not receive a letter grade and the grades
are not factored into the student's GPA. The credits passed are counted towards the 128 total credits required for graduation. If a student receives a grade below the host school’s equivalent of a St. Norbert “C,” then
the student will not receive credit for the course. The course will count as credits attempted and not earned and will be reflected on the student's St. Norbert transcript with a grade of NT (Not Transferable).
Althought GPA's are not impacted by Study Abroad courses, the passing or failing of these courses will still be factored in for the purposes of determining overall credit progression & probation statuses, as defined by the
St. Norbert Academic Regulations.
