The annual Town Hall meeting sponsored by Student Government Association (SGA) attracted over 25 students who were willing to share their ideas, raise concerns and ask questions to the current members of the President's cabinet, while also providing the President and his team with feedback and answers to some of their questions.

At the two hour January meeting, the Student Assembly of the Student Government Association (SGA) met to discuss a variety of issues. One of the topics that SGA covered at the meeting was the issue of smoking on campus. Because smoking had been discussed at length during previous semesters, the primary goal was to propose solutions.

After more than five years of revising the General Education Program, faculty gave students a chance to provide their input on the proposed outline of the new Core Program. Dr. Anindo Choudhury, associate academic dean of the college, introduced the students more closely with the ideas and reasoning behind the revision process; the final product being a result of close scrutiny and numerous deliberations among the faculty members.

With the start of the new academic year, many visible changes have been introduced to the St. Norbert College campus. The Fr. Eugene E. Gries, O. Praem Residential Hall and the new state-of-the-art Miriam B. and James J. Mulva Library opened their doors and provided students with innumerable living and learning opportunities on campus.

I learned a few things about Peter Romenesko, '10, current SGA President, over a 'hot date' at Phil's. For instance, his favorite soft drink is Dr Pepper and he usually sleeps in gym shorts. He also divulged that his current song of choice is "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus.

The second bi-annual Town Hall Meeting took place on Monday, November 12th in the Campus Center Lounge. The two-hour open forum featured a dialogue between the President of the College, Dr. William J. Hynes, his Cabinet and the students, faculty and staff.

The Student Government Association hosted a debate in the Campus Center in honor of U.S. Constitution day as a method of educating our students about the applicability of the document to today. SGA used the event as a practical means to promote freedom of expression, interpretation and ideas.

An email sent to the student body immediately before Thanksgiving break by the President of the Student Government Association (SGA), Travis Vanden Heuvel '09, announced the replacement of executive board members, Vice President for Student Concerns, Mike Lampe '09, and Secretary, Kalindi O'Brien '09, by Kelsey Kubale '11 and Michael Poradek '12, respectively.

On Tuesday, February 24, SGA sponsored a smoking forum during which smokers and nonsmokers were encouraged to share their views on smoking. Throughout this school year, the Student Government Association has been reviewing the current smoking policy and considering submitting a proposal to change the rules regarding smoking on campus.
