Carl Vogel, one of the most experienced executives in the media and telecom business with over 25 years of increasing responsibility across the cable television, satellite, telecom and content sectors, joined SCP Worldwide as Partner in May, 2009. Mr. Vogel’s experience ranges from structuring complex financial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, attracting necessary investment capital in both public and private markets to content creation, program network negotiations and cable and satellite network operations. Mr. Vogel has close personal relationships with the top leaders in the media and telecom sectors in North America and has a long track record of success. Mr. Vogel, who will be based out of Denver, Colorado, has a reputation for integrity, candor and independence with the investment community and is well known and respected on Wall Street and Capitol Hill.

Mr. Vogel is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Dish Network Corporation (DISH; NASDAQ) and an advisor to its Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Founder. Dish Network is a leader in the multi-channel video business serving in excess of 13 million customers throughout the United States.

While serving as Vice Chairman of Dish Network and EchoStar Communications Corporation (from June 2005 to March 2009), Mr. Vogel was responsible for all strategic matters, investments, media and advertising sales, corporate development, treasury, programming negotiation and affiliations as well as being a member of the respective company’s executive committees. Mr. Vogel also held the title of President from February 2006 to February 2008.

Additionally, as part of his first turn with EchoStar Communications (March 1994 – March 1997), Mr. Vogel helped to found Dish Network, which was created in 1994 to develop EchoStar’s direct broadcast satellite business.

Mr. Vogel also represented the company’s interests in various strategic investments as a member of the board of directors of College Sports Television, Oxygen Media, G4, SiTV and The Tennis Channel.

Prior to returning to EchoStar, Mr. Vogel served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Charter Communications (CHTR; NASDAQ) from October, 2001 until January 2005 where he helped refinance over $12 billion in debt securities, reorganized operations for greater efficiency, introduced Voice over Internet Protocol services and high definition television and was named 2004 CEO of the Year by CableFax Magazine.

Mr. Vogel has also held significant positions at Liberty Media Corporation and Shaw Communications.

Mr. Vogel graduated from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in finance and accounting. Mr. Vogel was recognized as the Distinguished Alumni in Business in July 2002. Mr. Vogel played baseball for St. Norbert College from 1975 to 1979 earning all conference honors from the Wisconsin Independent Conference of Athletics (WICA) in 1977 and 1978. Mr. Vogel and his wife Carol live in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado and are the proud parents of five wonderful children ranging in age from 18 to 25.
