Sorting the Sport Reality: The Family and Professional Athletics

In recent years, we have seen an explosion of motherhood in professional athletics. My work critically examines the media representation and the personal experiences of mothers in professional athletics. Using personal interviews with athletes such as Sheryl Swoopes and Lindsay Davenport, I will explore the complicated terrain of motherhood in professional athletics from a personal and mediated perspective.
