Call for Submissions

We are currently accepting submissions for concurrent sessions, the National Sports Photography Exhibition and the Juried Film Festival. Please view the details below for further information on how to submit to any one of these categories.

Concurrent Session Paper/Presentation Abstracts

We are soliciting proposals for papers and presentations for inclusion in the concurrent sessions from sports academics and professionals working in sports-related fields. We are encouraging submissions from a broad range of topics including but not limited to:

•    Sports law
•    Sports psychology
•    Issues in running a sports team or related enterprise
•    The economics of sports
•    Emergence, identification and fostering of athletic talent
•    Managing premier athletes for peak performance
•    Amateur athletics
•    Sports marketing
•    The philosophy and ethics of sports
•    Religion and sports
•    The sociology of sports
•    Sports management
•    Creative writing about sports
•    Literature and sports
•    Sports and other popular culture
•    Sports and the media
•    Sports and government
•    Sports and science
•    Sports training
•    Sports and education
•    The history of sports
•    The athlete’s experience
•    Security issues and sports
•    Sports and the creative arts
•    Sports tourism
•    Studies in gender, race, class, sexuality, disability, and sport

If you are interested in participating in this conference by giving a paper or presentation, please submit your name, institutional affiliation, address, telephone and e-mail, along with a 100-250 word abstract of your proposed contribution, before November 30, 2009. >>How to submit your abstract


National Sports Photography Exhibition

To have your work considered for inclusion in the conference’s photography exhibition, please contact Mr. Donald Taylor, Director of the Art Galleries, Curator of the College Collection, and Adjunct Associate Professor of Art at (920) 403-3370.

Proposed images will be sent digitally on disc or online in Photoshop, Photoshop TIFF, or JPEG format with finished resolution of 300 DPI.  The images will be professionally printed in the SNC Media Services Graphic Design Department.  Following the exhibition, all printed images will be returned to their respective artists.  The deadline for image submissions is February 1, 2010.


Juried Film Festival Entries

To have your work considered for inclusion in the conference’s juried film festival, please contact Dr. Michael Marsden, Dean of the College and Academic Vice President at (920) 403-3001. Film submissions will be accepted through March 1, 2010. Final film selections will be announced on or around May 3, 2010.
