Dr. Wegge has been a faculty member at St. Norbert College since 1979. He teaches courses on research methodology and statistics.

Wegge was the founder of the St. Norbert College Survey Center and served as its director for fifteen years from 1983-1998. In 2009, St. Norbert College outsourced the Survey Center to Wegge Strategic Research.

Wegge's research has been used by The Wall Street Journal, London Financial Times, The Economist, The New York Times, MacNeil-Lehrer NewsHour, Newsweek, USA Today, CBS News, ABC News, and CNN. His recent clients include: Nicolet National Bank, Cellcom, Nsight, ThedaCare and WPS Resources.
