The Student Life Awards Program is a campus wide celebration that captures the community esprit des corps for those serving and leading in the St. Norbert College community.
The Student Life Committee initiated the Awards program in 1979 to recognize and thank students for the significant contributions they have made to campus life at St. Norbert College. Consistent with the mission of the Student Life Division, students who receive a Student Life award must demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge, values, and skills necessary to change themselves, their community, and their world. These competencies are important because they are the hallmark of student learning outside of the classroom, and help manifest the personal attributes that embed the College’s core values in each of our students. This type of meaningful involvement in our community relates to the development of students in all areas of their lives – socially, psychologically, cognitively and intellectually. The Student Life Division is committed to working with students to achieve proficiency in the Student life Core Competencies.
The Awards are selected in the second semester of each year through an application process, beginning with nominations of student leaders. Please consider
nominating students you have had the pleasure to teach or work with or just know that embody the qualities noted above. You can also see the
individual award requirements. Once a student is nominated, they are sent a congratulations along with an invitation to apply for award consideration. Award winners are picked by the Student Life Awards Committee, made up of staff, students and faculty. The whole process culminates at the awards program in April.
Students also select and recognize an outstanding educator with the Educator of the Year Award. Announcements regarding this process are released through direct mail and the SNC News list serve.
Nominees, recipients, family members, significant others and friends are all invited to join the celebration of service, thought and action.
