Celebrating Lives Lived in Service to the Common Good
Mission The Norbertine Leadership and Service Awards, sponsored by the Division of Mission and Student Affairs, recognize selfless devotion to improving St. Norbert College and the greater community, to going above and beyond in appreciating human differences, to establishing connections between students, faculty, and staff, and to living the College mission.
Awards Categories
The Norbertine Leadership and Service Awards program offers four categories of awards:
- The Exemplary Leadership Award will recognize students' contributions over the past 12 months and is based solely on nomination. The Exemplary Leadership Award will be selected based only on the information provided by the nominator. Who’s Who will be selected based on either a nomination for the Exemplary Leadership Award or an application completed by the student.
- Awards of Distinction will recognize students' contributions during their entire time at SNC. The Awards of Distinction require an application that includes a resume and two short answer questions. The Ashmore and Harvey Scholarship, the Golden Family Scholarship and the Rath Scholarship also require an additional essay. Details can be found on the application form. See the award descriptions page for descriptions and criteria for each award and a link to the application form. One student will also be recognized with the Beloved Community Social Justice Award, which has its own short nomination form.
- Faculty/Staff Awards include the Educator of the Year and the Beloved Community Social Justice Award.
- The Internship Awards, sponsored by Career Services, recognize one outstanding student intern and one outstanding internship site each year.
Nominations for the Exemplary Leadership Award or the Beloved Community Social Justice Award may be submitted by faculty, staff or fellow students. Once a student is nominated, they are sent a letter of congratulations along with an invitation to apply for an Award of Distinction.
