Emmaus Center Student Coordinator — Emmaus Center

Description: The Emmaus Center seeks students who are interested in exploring and/or committing to expressions of faith to assist with cultivating a ministry for the SNC Community. Applicants should be comfortable 1) working independently and in a team setting, 2) organizing and completing tasks on a deadline, 3) extending hospitality, 4) expressing personal creativity, and 5) speaking about faith and spirituality.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Areas of Ministry:
Envision and cultivate new ministry opportunities for students exploring and committed to expressions of faith. Necessary skills:
ability to develop meaningful relationships with SNC students
awareness of the spiritual doubts, desires, and hopes of SNC students
sensitivity to diverse expressions of faith
ability to develop ideas into plans, and plans into action

Interact effectively with Emmaus Center professional staff, student workers, and community partners. Necessary skills:
intuitive use and organization of Gmail, Contacts, and Calendar
professionalism when communicating with students, staff, faculty, and community partners
confidentiality when accessing information regarding a student or community partner

Event Planning
Assist with planning and promoting events for students. Necessary skills:
ability to see the parts and tasks that comprise a whole event
organize paperwork and receipts
communicate professionally with students, staff, faculty, and community partners
social media promotion
ability to design posters/flyers is desirable

All Emmaus Center Employees:
Be on campus for training Sunday, August 19-Thursday, August 23
Attend an Emmaus Center team retreat Sept. 28-29
Will attend occasional Fall training workshops (Times and Dates TBD)
Will attend the division’s Student Leadership Conference in the Spring semester
Meet once a week as a large group or sub-group (Times and Dates TBD)
Will be paid a minimum of $8.00 per hour.
Must maintain a 2.5 GPA each semester they are employed
Must remain in good conduct standing with the college
Will consider their Emmaus Center position their primary position on campus
