Michels Hall Service Program Student Coordinator — Sturzl Center for Community Service & Learning

Duties:
The Student Program Coordinator for the Michels Hall Service Program will assist and support the students and staff in the Michels Hall Service Program, with a particular focus on the community partnerships. S/he will also serve as the organizer of Celebrating Service, the Sturzl Center’s annual celebration of service.

Job Functions:
+ Assist in planning and implementing major events with the Michels Hall Service Program including, but not limited to, suite representative training, all hall meetings (Fall and Spring), orientation, recognition events, and selection of new residents.
+ Assist with program logistics including, but not limited to, tracking service hours, running meetings, communicating in writing with residents and community partners, creating nametags and other materials for the program.
+ Co-chair the weekly Suite Representative Meeting along with the Residential Education and Housing (REH) Community Assistant.
+ Act as a liaison between REH staff, students and community partners through ongoing communication and site visits, if needed. Inform Sturzl Center and REH staff on the status of the relationship between the College and the community partners, including any issues that may arise.
+ Serve on the Michels Hall Service Program Leadership Team along with the Michels Hall Director, Assistant Director of Community Service and Learning and the Michels Community Assistant.
+ Coordinate, plan, and implement the reflection sessions each semester.
+ Assist with assessment and evaluation.
+ Assist with the Upper Class Service Program, as needed.
+ Facilitate opportunities for community partners to visit campus during events such as the Involvement Fair and Celebrating Service.
+ Serve as the student organizer of Celebrating Service, an end of the year event to celebrate the service accomplished by students, faculty and staff.
