Summer Conference Coordinator — Residential Education and Housing

The Residential Education and Housing summer positions are integral roles for summer operations. The Student Staff Member assists REH in multiple facets—whether it is working with a conference guest to answering questions for new students. The position focuses on the following skills: communication (verbal and written), organization, time management, self-motivation, role modeling, problem solving, integrity, teamwork, dependability and supervisory.

Qualifications, Expectations, and Eligibility

The Summer Conference Coordinator should have previous experience as either a Residential Education and Housing staff member at St. Norbert College or equivalent related leadership/administrative experience. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals and groups of students is necessary. Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.


The Summer Conference Coordinator is full-time (40 hours per week) from Tuesday, May 15, 2018 to Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Vacations and weekends away from campus in the summer must be discussed and scheduled in advance with the assigned supervisor. Summer “on call” coverage will be shared jointly with the REH summer student staff. Weekly hours may vary depending on arrival and departure dates of conferences.
REH staff members are not permitted to have another campus job during the summer.


The financial remuneration is $8.75 per hour; on-campus housing provided in the summer hall and 5 meals per week/plan.


A. Prepare keys for conference distribution.
B. Facilitate key and room changes throughout a specific conference.
C. Keep hall key boxes organized and secure.
D. Update rosters and/or room assignments for orientation.
E. Maintain accurate housing occupancy information for conference billing.
F. Develop and maintain conference check-list process (ie. Before and after conference).
G. Develop conference guest information packets.
H. Assist with completing Hall Condition reports prior to each conference and assess each housing unit for charges at the end of the conference.
I. Prepare revenue and cost statements.
J. Develop information and marketing tools for future and current conferences.
K. Prepare excel spreadsheets and other documents.
L. Assist as needed on weekends and evenings.
M. Assist with making beds and other conference preparation.
N. Rotate “on duty” responsibilities with other staff members.
O. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Housing Operations
