Student Organization Awards

Each year we recognize the outstanding contributions of our student organizations at the Norbertine Leadership & Service Awards. This year's ceremony will be Saturday, April 26th, 2014 from 2-3:30pm in Ft. Howard Theater. Below are descriptions of each award. 

NOMINATE your organization for an award! 

Award Descriptions

Adviser of the Year Award

This award goes to a student organization adviser who:

  • Goes above and beyond the minimum requirements of advising an organization
  • Displays an outstanding commitment to their organization as a role model, mentor, and leader

"Unsung Hero" Award

This award will go to an individual organization member who:

  • Lives by the SNC motto of Docere verbo et exemplo:  To teach by word and example
  • Does not have a formal leadership position within the organization, but embodies the mission of the organization
  • Is truly dedicated to the organization without seeking recognition for their efforts - has not received awards previously

Most Improved Organization

This award will go to a student organization that has:

  • Demonstrated a commitment to developing their organization and attaining their goals
  • Shown remarkable growth in multiple facets of the organization including membership, scholarship, service, philanthropy, education, and/or social aspects

Outstanding Commitment To Service Award

This award goes to a student organization that:

  • Displays a dedication to serving the SNC and/or local community
  • Demonstrates commitment to developing long-term partnerships with community agencies
  • Has exceeded expectations of service requirements

Outstanding Philanthropic Contribution Award

This award goes to a student organization that:

  • Demonstrates commitment to the organization’s philanthropic cause
  • Continually works toward the advancement of the organization’s chosen philanthropy

Outstanding Educational Program Award

This award will go to a student organization that:

  • Planned and hosted a program that succeeded in educating a group of people outside the organization about an issue or cause
  • Found innovative ways of informing about a certain topic, event, or issue

Academic Excellence Award

This award goes to one Greek/Social and one Academic/Honorary student organization that:

  • Created and achieved scholarship goals as an organization
  • Emphasizes the importance of scholarship within the organization

GPA Award

This award will go to an organization with the highest average GPA of the following categories:

  • Diversity, Ethnic, & Cultural; Governing, Programming, & Media; Recreation; Service & Faith; Special Interest
  • Greek & Independent

This award will be determined based on the rosters submitted by the organization. You do not need to nominate for this award.
