Student Organization Awards

Each year we recognize the outstanding contributions of our student organizations at the Norbertine Leadership & Service Awards. This year's ceremony will be Saturday, April 27th, 2013 from 2-3:30pm in Ft. Howard Theater. Below are descriptions of each award. Please note that while some awards seek nominations, others are determined by reports submitted to the LSE office. 

Award Descriptions

Advisor of the Year Award

This award goes to a student organization advisor who:

• Goes above and beyond the minimum requirements of advising an organization
• Displays an outstanding commitment to their organization as a role model, mentor, and leader

This award is based on nominations. Nominate here. 

Docere Verbo Et Exemplo Award

St. Norbert College’s version of an “Unsung Hero” award, this award will go to an individual organization member who:

• Lives by the SNC motto of Docere verbo et exemplo:  To teach by word and example
• May not have a formal leadership position within the organization, but embodies the mission of the organization
• Is truly dedicated to the organization without seeking recognition for their efforts

This award will be determined based on nominations. Nominate here. 

Most Improved Organization

This award will go to a student organization that has:

• Demonstrated a commitment to developing their organization and attaining their goals
• Shown remarkable growth in multiple facets of the organization including membership, scholarship, service, philanthropy, education, and/or social aspects

This award will be determined based on nominations. Nominate here. 

Outstanding Commitment To Service Award

This award goes to a student organization that:

• Displays a dedication to serving the SNC and/or local community
• Demonstrates commitment to developing long-term partnerships with community agencies
• Has exceeded expectations of service requirements

This award will be determined based on Knightline reports of service. If you have not logged your organization’s service, please do so at: www.snc.edu/knightline/

Outstanding Philanthropic Contribution Award

This award goes to a student organization that:

• Demonstrates commitment to the organization’s philanthropic cause
• Continually works toward the advancement of the organization’s chosen philanthropy

This award will be determined based on Knightline reports of philanthropy. If you have not logged your organization’s philanthropic efforts, please do so at: www.snc.edu/knightline/

Outstanding Educational Program Award

This award will go to a student organization that:

• Planned and hosted a program that succeeded in educating a group of people outside the organization about an issue or cause
• Found innovative ways of informing about a certain topic, event, or issue

This award will be determined based on the Knightline reports of educational programs hosted. If you have not logged your organization’s educational programs, please do so at: www.snc.edu/knightline/

Academic Excellence Award

This award goes to one Greek/Social and one Academic/Honorary student organization that:

• Created and achieved scholarship goals as an organization
• Emphasizes the importance of scholarship within the organization

This award will be determined based on the organization’s completion of the Annual Report.

GPA Award

This award will go to an organization with the highest average GPA of the following categories:

• Diversity, Ethnic, & Cultural; Governing, Programming, & Media; Recreation; Service & Faith; Special Interest
• Greek & Independent

This award will be determined based on the rosters submitted by the organization.
