Facility
and Table Reservations
As a recognized student organization, you have the privilege of
using campus facilities free of charge. All facilities on campus
require a reservation for planned events and meetings. The
comprehensive Event & Fund Raising
Planning site has a section on all the available space on
campus.
To schedule a meeting, event, or reserve a table in the Campus
Center, contact LSI at x4023.
To schedule a meeting or to reserve a table for sales anywhere else
on campus, contact Event Services at x4000.
Display Cases
Display cases are available in the Campus Center to help with your
publicity needs. Student organizations wishing to use the Campus
Center display cases for their public relations needs can make
reservations in LSI, x4023.
Your Own Organization
Website
It’s a good marketing and communications tool to have your own
website. Website development assistance is available in LSI, and as
a recognized organization, you may request your own site name. Once
your site is published, it will be linked to the organization
listing database (www.snc.edu/studentorgs). To get
started on your SNC website, or to convert your current one, click here.
Copy Center
The Copy Center copies, enlarges, decreases, and prints posters,
flyers, booklets, and table tents--all for a minimal charge. To
charge at the Copy Center, you must have an SNC account. If you do
not have an SNC banner account, consider getting an Organizational
Passport (the same type of card you carry for your personal needs)
from Campus Card Services. The Copy Center is located in the
Sensenbrenner Memorial Union.
Campus Cards
All organizations who do not have a college account but do use
college services (i.e., copy center, mail center, etc.) are
encouraged to get an Organizational campus card. Using a card gives
your organization convenience and tax free purchases. To purchase
an SNC card for your organization, go to Campus Card Services in
the Union. Open your account for $10 or more. The balance can be
added to at any time and will carry over from year to year. Then
when you go to purchase something for your organization on campus,
just give them your passport number. It will be automatically
deducted from your Passport account.
Catering
The Sensenbrenner Memorial Union staff caters events for a charge.
Food Service arrangements other than coffee or soda set-ups need to
be made at least two weeks in advance to insure the availability of
your food requests and proper staff scheduling. Contact Event
Services (x4000) for more information.
Event Planning Website
SNC offers a comprehensive website for any faculty, staff or
student planning a program or fund raiser on campus. This site
provides all the information you need including reservations,
registrations, and evaluations. Everything you would need to plan
your SNC program is at www.snc.edu/planning. This is the first
place to go when you intend on sponsoring a program on
campus.
Graphic Design
LSI employs a graphic design intern who is available to student
organizations free of charge. Posters, table tents, t-shirts,
flyers, invites ... anything that requires a little extra artistic
talent! Call LSI (x4023) to schedule a meeting with the graphic
design intern to discuss your ideas and needs. Camera ready artwork
will be presented that you can then bring to the copy center or
t-shirt place to have printed.
Mail Center
Mailings may be charged to your student organization account if you
have one, otherwise cash is expected. Basic guidelines for flyers
are as follows:
- All materials must be folded to letter size.
- If individually addressed, the flyers must be in suite box
order.
- There are 2,000 student mailboxes. If adding faculty and staff,
add another 170.
If you are sending letters off-campus, bulk mailing rates are much
cheaper than first class rates (check with Mail Center for cost).
All bulk mailings must follow these guidelines:
- There must be at least 200 pieces in a bulk mailing.
- All pieces must have a return address on them.
- All pieces must have a bulk mailing stamp on them (LSI has a
stamp) or envelopes with the stamp already imprinted can be ordered
from the Book Store.
The College also has access to a bulk mailing service if you would
like assistance with your mailing. Contact Phyllis Melotte (x3214)
in the Mail Center for more information.
For organizations with College accounts, there is no need to use
stamps for your outgoing mail. To meter mail, simply write on the
top left hand corner of the envelope the respective organization to
be charged. Only organizations with College accounts may do
this.
