Organizations are required to renew their
recognition each fall. A renewal packet is available from the
Department of Leadership, Service & Involvement to make this
process very easy for you. This packet is also available at the
first Access meeting of the year. The packet includes the following
which must be completed and submitted to LSI by October 1:
- Executive Report, which lists all officers and contact
information
- Advisor Agreement, signed by your advisor. All organizations
are required to have an advisor. If an advisor resigns or leaves,
one semester is granted to find a new advisor. Your LSI liaison may
sign the Advisor Agreement and all ensuing forms that need an
Advisor’s signature until such time that a new advisor is
appointed.
- Membership List (a past year membership list is available from
LSI and can be revised and submitted for updates)
- Campus Center Reservation and Policy Contract, if you wish to
reserve in the Campus Center
- Updated constitution (when applicable)
When LSI receives this information, the involvement database is
updated (individuals requesting a co-curricular transcript will see
their involvement in organizations based on this submission), and
the organization website (www.snc.edu/studentorgs/) is
updated.
Organizations that fail to get their renewal in by October 1 go
through the following:
- October 2 – Notice sent to organizations that have not filed
for renewal
- October 15 – Organizations that do not respond to the notices
and submit the renewal papers by this date are dissolved. A letter
is sent to the organization president, advisor and organization
benefit providers (i.e. Campus Center reservationist, business
office, copy center, mail center, bank) alerting them to their
dissolved status and resulting loss of benefits.
Dissolved organizations lose all funding privileges (student
activity fee allocations, if applicable, revert back to the SAF
fund; or, if applicable, their banner account is closed and these
monies go to the SAF fund).
Organizations that are dissolved and wish to reconvene will need to
reapply for recognition and start the process from the beginning.
The Student Organization Affairs committee takes the group’s prior
recognition and dissolution status into account when reviewing
requests for re-recognition.
