Program:
- Located in the ancient city of Syracuse and only steps from the sea, The Mediterranean Center (MCAS) offers students an extraordinary curriculum that includes Classical Studies, Marine and Land Archaeology, Geology, Sicilian Literature, Classical Drama, Contemporary Studies, Philosophy, Italian Language, Studio Arts and more. Field excursions are an integral part of classes at MCAS, making use of the school’s rich surroundings and Sicily’s grand past. The city of Syracuse is renowned for its Greek and Roman past; even today it is a culturally rich city that boasts some of today’s finest examples of Baroque architecture.
- GPA Requirement: 2.8 cumulative
- Credits/Courses: SNC students typically take 5 classes (15 credits), including a mandatory Italian Language class. Students must earn a C or better in each class in order to obtain transfer credit.
- Housing: Students share a double room and live in apartments housing 4 to 8 other study abroad students. Apartments are fully furnished and all have kitchens. No meal plan is available. Apartments are located within walking distance from MCAS (5 to 20 minutes).
