Madrid: Universidad Antonio de Nebrija
The Universidad Antonio de Nebrija is a private university located on two campuses on the outskirts of Madrid. Students may choose to attend either the Hispanic Studies program on the Dehesa de la Villa campus, where their classmates will be from around the world and all of whom are non-native speakers of Spanish, or students can choose to take some courses in the Hispanic Studies program and other courses (most held on the Berzosa campus) where their classmates will be Spaniards and other international students.
*Students enroll in 5 classes. Most courses are taught in Spanish although there are some courses offered in English in Business and in the Humanities and Applied Languages Departments. Students are encouraged to take an optional intensive Spanish language course prior to the beginning of each semester (2 weeks in fall; 3 weeks in spring)
*Accommodations: Students are placed with families in the center of Madrid, where they will be provided with three meals a day. Most family stays in Madrid are of a financial nature (i.e. students rent a room from a family but typically do not take part in family activities). All housing placements require a commute by metro and/or metro and bus to get to the university (45-60 minutes average). Students are responsible for purchasing a monthly metro pass.
*Dates:
Fall (with intensive language course): early September to 3rd week of December
Spring (with intensive language course): early January through late May
