Valencia

The Valencia Hispanic Studies program, located in the third largest city in Spain, is sponsored by the University of Virginia and is a program for U.S. study abroad students.

*Students take a Spanish placement test upon arrival and then enroll in 5 classes (3 credits each).   All students on the program are from U.S. universities, however all professors are native speakers of Spanish and all courses are taught in Spanish.  Spring students who are linguistically capable may be able to take one or two courses at the Universidad Católica de Valencia, which will afford them the opportunity to take classes with Spanish university students.  Volunteer opportunities in a variety of fields are available.

*Accommodations:  SNC students live with families throughout Valencia where they will receive 3 meals per day and have their laundry done for them.

*Requirements:   Students must have completed through SN 204, although it is recommended that students take 301 and 302 prior to attending.  A GPA of 2.5 is required.
