Survey types

Face-to-face Surveys Face-to-face surveys
In-person surveying collects more detail oriented information directly from respondents. This personal surveying technique can range from intercept interviewing to scheduled appointments.
Mail Surveys Mail surveys
Mail surveys are conducted to collect more in-depth information than that which can be achieved by a timed telephone survey. These surveys are usually longer than a phone survey and offer more detailed questions on a the topic area. A mail survey is sent out with a letter to each recipient, a questionnaire booklet and a postage-paid envelope for recipients to return the completed survey.
Phone Surveys Telephone surveys
Telephone surveys are an effective method of obtaining high quality data from a set of random respondents. The results are dependable and accurate indications of the overall opinions of the population under study. The survey center employs many telephone interviewers so as to enable the center to complete this portion of the project in a relatively short period of time.
Web Surveys Web surveys
Web surveys are an effective way to reach targeted groups of respondents such as pre-screened online panels, specific demographic/geographic respondents, businesses, consumers and small/difficult-to-reach respondent groups. With 24-hour access to the internet, survey respondents are given more flexibility, which translates into quicker response time. Online data collection is now possible in real time from almost any location.
