March 20, 2012 Anti-spam server upgrade The College's anti-spam server will be upgraded on Wednesday, March 28th at 5:30 p.m. This upgrade is not expected to take long and should be done well within the maintenance period (by 8:00 p.m.). During this time, the anti-spam server will be unavailable and e-mail coming in to campus may be briefly delayed. Important: In preparation for this upgrade, we will be adjusting the settings on the anti-spam server on Wednesday, March 21st. Because the quarantined mail cannot be transferred from the old server to the new server, for one week prior to the upgrade, the anti-spam server will not quarantine any messages. Messages that would normally be quarantined will instead be allowed through to your inbox. This means that you will receive somewhat more spam than usual during this time. Messages that are blocked by the anti-spam server will continue to be blocked. Again, from March 21st through March 28th, you will receive more spam than usual. Just delete these spam messages as you normally would, and remain on alert for phishing scams. As soon as the anti-spam server upgrade is complete on the 28th, suspected spam messages will go back to being quarantined as they always have.
