April 23, 2009 Computer Accounts After Graduation Wondering what happens to your computer account & e-mail after you graduate? You can keep your SNC e-mail address indefinitely, so you don't have to bother changing your address with all of your family and friends! You can either continue to use Zimbra to access your e-mail, or forward your SNC address to another address. After you graduate, your student account will automatically become an alumni account, and all of your files & e-mail will be retained. With an alumni account, you can still use the campus computer labs, log in to the network, and use your SNC e-mail address. However, because alumni accounts have less network storage space than student accounts, if you want to keep using your M drive, you'll need to reduce the amount of space you use there to less than 5MB. There is no print allowance for alumni accounts, so if you need to print from the campus network, you'll have to go to the Library or Copy Center to make arrangements for printing. Alumni accounts expire if they're not used for 180 days, unless the e-mail address is being forwarded. That means that if you don't log in to your SNC e-mail or the network for 180 days, and don't have your e-mail forwarded, your account will be deleted.
