August 10, 2009 Please ignore Mailbox Update request Another phishing message showed up Sunday. It is essentially identical to a message that we warned you about in June. It tells you that your account was compromised by spammers. The subject reads "Mailbox Update" and the message asks you to link to a website. This message is a scam. If you received it, please do not respond. If you did respond, please change your password immediately and contact our Help Desk at 920-403-4357. For more information on phishing, please read the following web page: http://www.snc.edu/techsupport/docs/phishing.html Thank you for all of you who pointed this message out to us and indicated that you recognized it as a scam and did not respond. We hope that soon we will no longer need to warn you about these messages - that you will recognize them and ignore them as an unfortunate fact of life.
