September 2, 2010 Computer lab & classroom computer issues We are currently experiencing difficulties with the Windows-based lab and classroom computers on campus. We apologize for these and want everyone to know that we're working to find and deploy a solution as rapidly as possible. In the meantime, here are a couple of tips for dealing with these issues: - If you log in to a lab/classroom computer and the screen goes black after you log in, you do not need to restart the computer. The computer has actually just gone into standby mode and will wake up if you press any key on the keyboard. You will need to enter your password again and the computer will then function normally. - If you find that you do not have all of your network drives after logging in, just right-click on the small red "N" icon down by the clock and choose "NetWare Login." Once you log in again, all of your network drives should be restored. You do not need to close anything in order to do this, and you will not lose any work. - We are aware that the computers are taking quite a long time to start up after logging in, which we realize can be frustrating. We are working to resolve this as well and appreciate your patience.
