June 16, 2011 Network conversion update: M drive unavailable this weekend This weekend, the M (User) drives will be moved from the old network servers to the new servers. This will provide greater stability and reliability of this drive. Please do not save anything or make any changes to files on your M drive after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17th, and avoid using your M drive this weekend during the conversion. Although you may be able to access your M drive, problems might arise if you edit files while the conversion is in progress. Most of the M drive files have already been copied to the new servers, but any new or recently edited files will be re-copied this weekend and may not be available until Monday morning. If you find that any files are missing after 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20th, please notify the Help Desk. The G (Classes) drive and I (WinApps) drive have already been moved to the new servers, and J (Department) drive folders are being moved one department at a time. Also, due to the network conversion, NetStorage and NetDrive can no longer be used to access the network drives (G, J, & M). Currently there is no method of accessing network drives from off campus, but one will be provided in the future, and will be announced as soon as it is available.
