September 22, 2011 New anti-virus program On Monday, September 26 we will begin installing a new anti-virus/anti-spyware program called Microsoft Forefront on all campus Windows computers. This program will provide improved virus and spyware protection for the community. This installation process will happen remotely; no one will need to visit your computer. You will not need to click on anything and your computer will not need to be restarted. The installation will take place automatically in the background, but you may temporarily see a warning about not having anti-virus protection on your computer, which you can ignore. Once Forefront has been installed, you may notice that the McAfee icon has been replaced by a green Forefront icon. If you have the College version of McAfee VirusScan on your home computer, we strongly recommend that you uninstall it and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials, a free download from http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/.
