Wireless Internet Access

SNC's wireless networks

To access the College's non-secured wireless network, sncexternal, no special configuration is necessary.* When you are within range of a wireless access point, your computer should detect it and offer you the option to connect.

To access the College's secure wireless network, sncwireless, you must configure your computer properly.* To get the right instructions for your computer, choose your operating system:

• Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)
• Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1)
• Windows Vista
• Macintosh OS 10.3 and higher

*Note that your computer must still be registered on the SNC network in order to get Internet access. For students, that includes installing St. Norbert College's version of McAfee VirusScan (Windows only).

Wireless in the Res. Halls

If you want to set up a Wireless Access Point/Router (WAP) in your Res. Hall room, you must read our policy, configure the equipment properly, and complete a Wireless Access Point Application Form.

Both the sncexternal and sncwireless networks are available in the following locations:

• Abbot Pennings Hall Fine Arts: Webb and Walter Theatres
• Bemis International Center: all

• Cofrin Hall: 1st floor
• JMS: 2nd floor lobby lounge, 216 & 217, 004 lecture hall, 126 (Physics Lab), 4th floor
