What Alumni need to know about ZimbraThe College uses the Zimbra Collaboration Suite, a system that combines e-mail, calendars, address books, and other tools in an integrated system. Zimbra replaced our old e-mail system as of February 16, 2009. Logging in to ZimbraImportant! New e-mail login procedure: You must log in to Zimbra using your firstname.lastname from the beginning of your e-mail address in the “Username” box, rather than your 6-character login ID. If you have trouble logging in to Zimbra using your firstname.lastname username, it may be because your password is expired. Try changing your password. The specific method for accessing Zimbra depends upon how you use your SNC e-mail account: If you access your SNC e-mail through WebMailGo to the Zimbra login page at http://www.snc.edu/zimbra. Note the new e-mail login procedure described above. If you access your SNC e-mail through an e-mail program like Thunderbird or OutlookYou need to change your e-mail program’s settings so that it connects to the Zimbra server instead of to the old mail server. The necessary server details can be found on the Zimbra Server Information page. If you have your SNC e-mail forwarded to another e-mail account/addressE-mail forwarding was not carried over from the old mail system to Zimbra. If you have your SNC e-mail forwarded to another address, you will need to log in to Zimbra to reset it. To do so, log in to Zimbra, go to Preferences – Mail, and under “Forward a copy to,” enter your forwarding address in the box. Check the “Don't keep a local copy of messages” box, then click the Save button on the menu bar in the upper left.
