Software provided on this page is in the public domain or has been licensed by St. Norbert College for home use by our faculty, staff, and students. You will be asked to provide your SNC login ID and password in order to download software that we have licensed.
Anti-virus software
Download McAfee VirusScan 8.5 for Windows 2000, XP, & Vista (27MB)
SNC students, faculty, & staff only - requires SNC login ID and password
Save this file to a location of your choosing - make sure you know where it is being put. Then use My Computer to go to that location and double-click on the file to start the installation. For instructions on installing, updating, & using McAfee VirusScan 8.5, please see the handout

Download McAfee VirusScan Definitions/Updates (from McAfee's web site)
These virus definitions are for updating McAfee VirusScan. This file is only necessary for those with slow Internet connections who wish to download the file on campus and take it home. After agreeing to the terms on McAfee's web site, download the file named XXXXxdat.exe (where XXXX is the version number), labeled "Windows-Intel".

Malwarebytes
To get the free version, click on "Download free trial version" button. This will take you to another site, where you'll probably need to click another Download button or link.
SUPERAntiSpyware
To get the free version, click on the "Download SUPERAntiSpyware FREE Edition" link under "Popular Links" (near the bottom).
Ad-Aware
To get the free version, click the "Download Ad-Aware Free" button, then click the grey Download button on the left (you do not need to fill in your personal information on the right).
SpyBot - Search & Destroy
Scroll down to the "Download" section, click on Spybot - Search & Destroy©®, then click on any of the"Download here" buttons.
Windows Defender
Windows Defender is already included with all versions of Windows Vista and is available to download for Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 or later.

Download NetDrive
NetDrive is a program that allows Windows XP users to access network drives (the M, J, & G drives) without being logged in to the campus network. For instructions, see
Accessing Network Files Using NetDrive. (Note that at this time there is no version of NetDrive for Windows Vista and no equivalent program for the Macintosh. Mac users should use
NetStorage to access network drives remotely.)
Download WS-FTP (Windows)
SNC students, faculty, & staff only - requires SNC login ID and password
WS-FTP is an FTP program used for transferring files between your computer and a remote server, such as the portfolios or coursework servers or network drives. (For Macs, see Cyberduck, below.)

Mozilla Firefox & Thunderbird

Adobe Reader & Flash Player
Adobe Reader is a free program used for for viewing and printing PDF documents. If you're on campus and need the Adobe Reader, follow
these instructions. If you're off campus, you can download the Adobe Reader and Flash Player directly from
Adobe.
Cyberduck (Mac)
Cyberduck is an FTP program used for transferring files between your computer and a remote server, such as the portfolios or coursework servers or network drives.
General (non-SNC) download sites
All of these sites offer large collections of software, shareware, and freeware for all popular operating systems as well as handheld devices. The software is arranged by category, and generally includes descriptions, technical information, and reviews or ratings.
