By teaming up with Charitable Recycling to recycle old and unused phones, Cellcom will be helping preserve our environment while donating money to local charities.
Donated used cell phones are sent to Charitable Recycling who refurbishes or recycles the equipment and gives $1 to designated charities for every phone collected. Because our goal is to keep all used cell phones out of the local landfill, we accept all wireless phones, whether they are digital, analog or a competitor's product. To date, nearly $5,000 has been donated to local charities through these efforts.
In addition to protecting the environment, recycled phones are also used for social good as many are distributed for 911 (emergency only) services, providing battered women and senior citizens with a direct link to necessary communication. Some phones are reused in under developed countries and obsolete phones are destroyed in an environmentally responsible manner.
If you have a phone you'd like to donate, please drop it off at the Knights Telcom Store or your nearest
Cellcom retail or authorized agent location.
