library Library Ground Breaking

Fitting for a baptism, rain poured down on the morning of April 25, 2008, the long awaited day of the groundbreaking for the Mulva Library. A large number of students, faculty, and staff gathered in the Webb Theater to attend the ceremony.  Greeted by president William Hynes and led into prayer by  Abbot Gary Neville, the audience had the chance to hear commentaries by Patrick Kelly, the chair of the board of Trustees, dean Michael Marsden, Felice Maciejewski, director of the library, and from Miriam and James Mulva themselves.

Town Hall Meeting

On April 29, 2008 the third biannual Town Hall Meeting was held in the F.K. Bemis International Conference Center.  President Hynes and six Vice Presidents of the President’s Cabinet came to discuss a variety of issues that concern St. Norbert Students.

Junior Adi Redzic opened the meeting by asking President Hynes what his biggest accomplishment in the last year has been or what he looks forward to accomplishing in his future role as a faculty member.

Technology Fee-You Ask, We Investigate

While students pay them when the time comes, there are times in which some may wonder exactly where the money goes. To Whom Is a Tattoo a Taboo?

How many of us have been warned by our parents not to get tattoos?  Perhaps you have been told that if you get inked, any kind of financial help from your parents will cease.  I was told that, as I get older, any tattoos I have will look disgusting and indiscernible.  Well, I have two (of my own design), much to my father’s displeasure, and I have to wonder if the attraction or aversion to tattoos is generational.

Baseball Rolling through Conference Play

The Knights baseball team rolled through the week of April 15. Starting off an 8-game road trip, the Knights took a split decision in Beloit. After winning the first game 10-0, the Knights were defeated by the Buccaneers in the second game of the double header in extra innings.
In the bottom of the 10th, junior Jordan Vater scored unearned on a Buccaneer error. The top of the 10th brought two runs by Beloit, the winning score being on a wild pitch.
