Up 'til Dawn
In 1998, a group of college students pioneered a fund-raising event to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Evoking the help of faculty, staff and other students on the campus and in their community, these students led the charge in raising awareness and money for the hospital. The year culminated with an all-night celebration in which the students stayed “up ‘til dawn” and then, at the end of the event, the students revealed their fund-raising total.
Since that year, students from more than 230 schools have joined in the fight against catastrophic childhood diseases by hosting Up ‘til Dawn on their campuses and have raised more than $16 million for the patients of St. Jude. Committed young people across the country are quickly making Up ‘til Dawn the premier philanthropic projects for college students.
St. Norbert College is proud to be a part of Up ‘til Dawn and for raising more than $140,000 for St. Jude. This year more than 1/3 of the student population is expected to participate in Up ‘til Dawn and the school’s goal is to raise $80,000 to further benefit the life-saving work of St. Jude.
