Professional Profile
Linda Beane Katner, Associate Professor of French, came to the College in 1992. She earned her doctorate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a specialization in nineteenth-century French literature. Dr. Beane Katner has published and presented in the areas of the French nineteenth and twentieth-century novel, Francophone literature, feminist theory and second language acquisition.
She regularly teaches the intermediate language sequence, advanced literature and civilization courses, as well as the foreign language methods course for students seeking teaching certification. Dr. Beane Katner also teachers a General Education course that is cross-listed with the Women and Gender Studies minor.
