The Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN) is the only national organization whose sole mission is preparing women for public leadership. Each year, PLEN brings hundreds of women students from colleges and universities across the country to Washington, D.C. for a weekend, week or an entire semester to experience first-hand how public policy is shaped and implemented at the national level.

The program focuses on: Contested Gender Identities, Implicit and Explicit Knowledge and Socio-Cultural Forms of Constituting Reality. Course work in German and English.

Balkans
Gender, Transformation and Civil Society
Teaches with lectures and seminars in the Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. With a focus on how war and religion have shaped the region.

Canada
Carleton University
Faculty members in various departments at Carleton University conduct research into diverse areas concerning women including: the history of women; women and work; gender and diversity; women and social policy; sexuality and sexual practices; women and the environment; violence against women; gender and the media; women and development; women and literature; and much more.

Hong Kong
Chinese University of Hong Kong
The Gender Studies Program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong is the first academic program on gender studies in Hong Kong. It offers coursework and research opportunities with an inter-disciplinary team of faculty members. It provides students with a broad-based education in traditional academic disciplines while specializing in gender studies.

Jamaica
Gender and Development
Focuses on the intense interaction of gender, race, and class in Jamaican society, including the country’s gender-based division of labor, the “marginalization” of the Jamaican male, Jamaican feminist movements, African spirituality/religions and problems of social cohesion related to gender.

Mali
Gender and Development
The program provides an extraordinary opportunity to examine this objective through the interplay of gender dynamics, development and empowerment.

Sexuality and Gender Identity
