Mission Statement

The Joan P. Schaupp Women's Center at St. Norbert College is a collective voice for those who share a commitment to issues concerning women. The center seeks to advocate, support and empower all women.

Education and resources will be provided to both men and women on a wide variety of issues, resulting in the promotion of non-oppressive attitudes and behaviors.

The unique contributions and accomplishments of St. Norbert College women and the women in the community will be discovered, shared and acknowledged as all of society may benefit from their wisdom and unique histories.

Our objectives are to:

  • Provide a comfortable setting and a voice for those who share a commitment to issues concerning women.
  • Offer programs relevant to the lives of students that explore the unique connection between mind, body and spirit.
  • Educate the community about physical and mental health so as to foster the creation of lifelong healthy relationships and lifestyles.
  • Address the often-conflicting societal images and messages that may hinder the advancement of gender equality.
  • Encourage networking among St. Norbert faculty, staff and students, and mentoring between professionals and students of St. Norbert College and the surrounding community.
