14th Annual Joan P. Schaupp Women’s Center Phenomenal Woman Conference

Saturday, April 14th, 2012, St. Norbert College Michels Commons Ballroom, 9:00am-3:30pm

 About the conference
Each year, the Phenomenal Woman Conference focuses on educating, supporting, and empowering women. It is a wonderful opportunity for the extraordinary women of St. Norbert College and the greater Green Bay communities to celebrate, socialize, and grow. Though the focus of the Phenomenal Woman Conference is on women, men are more than welcome to attend.

The conference will begin with registration, followed by the keynote speech.  It will move on to the first workshop session, and  then to a delicious lunch during which the musical guest will perform.  After lunch will follow the second and third workshop sessions and finally the closing remarks and raffle prizes will be awarded.

For conference questions and information contact the St. Norbert College Women’s Center at (920) 403-4116. We hope that you will join us for the conference!

Keynote Speaker

keynote2012

This year we are proud to welcome Ms. Betsy Mitchell, recent Vice President of Organizational and Staff Development for the Green Bay Packers franchise.  Throughout her time with the Packers (1993-2011), she was and continues to be heavily involved in the community, and has received various awards and recognitions for her hard work and achievements throughout her life.  Ms. Mitchell retired from her position with the Packers in January of this year, but continues to serve the community.  She received her undergraduate degree in nursing and became a public health nurse, and then attended graduate school and taught at the University of Wisconsin.  Betsy is very interested in human relationships and how they influence our lives and she has dedicated her time to helping people better understand these relationships through her independent leadership and consulting firm, Mitchell Management Consulting.  Betsy will share her journey with us, from her beginnings living in a household in the country with six brothers and sisters, through her transition from nursing to her involvement with the Packers, the loss of her husband of 20 years to colon cancer, the foundation of Mitchell Management consulting and her continuous involvement in community service, while inspiring and challenging us to think more critically about the direction of our own lives and the relationships that affect us most deeply.

Betsy's speech is entitled:

"Top of Your Game"--Being the Best You Can Be

Being at the "Top of Your Game" requires energy, awareness, and finesse. Women leaders need to be in "game on" mode while navigating business expectations and leadership challenges effectively. They need to approach these challenges with both courage and grace. This presentation focuses on strategies to identify your strengths, understand the business climate, and maximize your contributions to successful teams.
