First Rotation: ADVOCATE
Take What You Need - Leave the Rest
Galynne Goodwill, Professional Singer, Songwriter, and Public Speaker "Life is a smorgasbord of ideas, opinions, attitudes, and feelings. Take what you need to live a happy, healthy life, and leave the rest.” This 45-minute session is an interactive and collaborative class designed for people who are searching for an easy way of letting go of the beliefs and opinions that go against who they really are. It’s an introduction into freeing a person from the labels others have given them, as well as finding the gifts that are present in difficult times.
Farming and Feminism: Women's Service Trip

An inspiring group of St. Norbert women will facilitate this breakout session based on their winter trip to Trevilians, Virginia at The Little Flower Catholic Worker Farm. You will walk away with knowledge about Eco-Living, Peace and Justice, Intentional Living, the Catholic Worker Farms, and Feminism. Plus, Learn tips on how to feasibly live simply! Women and Nature - Walking in Gospel Shoes Through the Compost Heap
Caroline Sullivan, O.P., founder of The Bridge Between Retreat Center Preach the Gospel and discover the Divine made visible in the compost heap. Which pair of shoes will you choose as we walk together as women in God’s playground of Creation? Personally I’m going to wear my hip boots!
Second Rotation: SUPPORT
Mama Judy - Empowering Kenya's Poor
Mary Stusek, founder of the Kenya School Project 25,000+ people die every day from = poverty. What obligation do we have to step outside our comfort zones to reverse these numbers? Does "grassroots" work globally? "But we only give locally." Can an individual make a difference? Why does it work to empower very poor women? "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." Martin Luther King
Called and Gifted
Rebecca Welch, Assistant Director of the Program of Faith, Learning and Vocation According to Frederick Buechner, “The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet." This workshop will help participants understand where this place is, both in their past experiences and in the present and future. We will explore questions such as: What gifts do we bring to the world? What are we passionate about? Where does the world need our gifts and passions? And finally, how does our experience as women shape our approaches and our answers to these questions?
The Phenomenal Woman in My Life
John Ravizza, Principal of Notre Dame Academy
This breakout session features a group of men sharing their experiences about the extraordinary women who have supported, inspired, and made a difference in their lives. You will be given the opportunity to pause and reflect on your own life, and think about how your actions and relationships have been influential and inspiring to the people around you—since you are a phenomenal woman as well.
Third Rotation: EMPOWER
Nutrition that Works for You
Melissa DaPra, R.D., C.D. Learn how to make positive food choices that support your busy life and provide yourself with sustained energy to meet your daily goals. The session will teach about a whole foods approach to eating well and behavioral changes that will help you meet your nutrition goals. Open question and answer time will be provided for you to answer your nutrition questions.
Social Activism and the Theatre
Katie Trzaska, St. Norbert Student and director of
The Truth of You
This workshop will look at how the theater has been a vessel for social activism over the last 100 years and the role of phenomenal women in its transformation from an entertainment source to a venue for addressing wider societal issues. The workshop will take a special look at The Women’s Center’s recent production The Truth of You: (Express)ions on Body Image, Health, and Society, a show developed specifically for and by SNC staff, faculty, and students, and produced primarily by female students on campus.
Dancing for the Soul
Katie Marquardt, St. Norbert Student and President of the St. Norbert Ballroom Club
Dancing for the Soul is a short presentation on how various dances enrich women's lives. It will include information about tango, foxtrot, rumba, samba, salsa, cha cha, waltz, and swing and their benefits for both women and men. The session will also include a short performance of various dances with a mini-lesson.
